My hours are 9 AM to 6 PM (Central Time).
How long is a typical session?
Sessions last 50 minutes.
What do I do to get started?

To schedule your free consultation, call me at (512) 593-8067 or complete the contact form below.

I’ll get back to you within 48 hours.

How do I pay?

I accept all major credit cards and also use Venmo (Katie-Graff888), PayPay (katiegraff@gmail.com), and Zelle (katiegraff@gmail.com).

Do you accept insurance?

I have chosen to be an out-of-network provider to cut back time spent filing claims, making phone calls, and dealing with administrative busy-work.

Instead, I spend time outside of sessions working on becoming a better therapist for my clients. I read professional books, take continuing education courses, and research new ideas to be the best therapist I can be!

But call your insurance provider to learn more about your plan’s out-of-network benefits.

Can you help me file my insurance?

I will provide you with receipts and monthly statements so that you can file claims for reimbursement directly with your insurance provider.

How do I make an appointment?

You can call or set up an appointment online.

What is your cancellation policy?

Sessions must be canceled with at least 24 hours’ notice before your appointment.

This time is reserved especially for you, so if you cancel outside that window or do not show up for your appointment, you will be billed for the full cost of the missed appointment.

Please cancel your session by telephone at (512) 593-8067 as soon as possible.

What is a free initial phone consultation?

To help support you in the best way, I offer everyone a complimentary 15-minute consultation to explore what you need.

You can schedule a consultation by calling me at (512) 593-8067 or completing the contact form below.

With whom do you work?

If you’re an individual aged 16 or older, I would be happy to know and work with you.

It does not matter your relationship status, who you are, or how you identify.

Whether you are female, male, non-binary, transgender, individual or polyamorous, traditional or a same-sex couple, you are very welcome.

Are you LGBTQIA-friendly?

Yes.

Do you work with people from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and religions?

Having worked with a broad range of populations over the years, I understand the complexity of sociocultural and international diversity.

I welcome all individuals of diverse backgrounds and ethnicities.

Who benefits from therapy?

You’ll benefit most from therapy if you’re motivated to change, want to be more aware, are open to feedback, and want to maintain these changes outside of therapy.

Should I feel better after therapy?

Therapy is a long-term investment in your happiness and personal growth. As we work together, we may uncover some of the pain you have been trying to avoid.

There might be times that you’re uncomfortable and don’t feel the best after a session, but I’m here to help you tolerate this discomfort.

As we process more unresolved issues, you will start to feel better.

I don’t feel like going to therapy and want to skip. What should I do?

This usually indicates that we are doing some heavy, meaningful work. That’s when you need the session now more than ever!

Come to the session. Please tell me if you feel this way, and we can address those feelings.

Some days, we need more of a recovery session rather than a procession session.

Do you offer video or phone sessions?

Yes, I offer video and phone sessions.

What else can I do to help myself?
Feel free to ask me for recommendations, and you are welcome to review my resource page.
How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?

Finding the right therapist will make you feel heard and understood.

A good therapist will give you the tools to do the work. Your feelings will be validated. They will want to check in with you, they’ll be open to feedback, and you’ll see the value in the work you are doing together.

Are you a Christian counselor?

No. I neither have a strong religious background nor incorporate religion into my therapy.

Is our work confidential?
Yes, everything you say in therapy remains confidential unless you tell me you want to harm yourself or someone else… or if a court orders your records.
Do you take sides?

One of the benefits of couples therapy is being able to see a professional who is an impartial party. I place great importance on empathizing with both parties and remaining impartial.

How long have you been in practice?
I’ve been a therapist for 15 years.
What are your strengths as a therapist?
I am open-minded, empathetic, well-cultured, and experienced in many different modalities and types of therapy.
What do you enjoy about being a therapist?

I am passionate about trying to help others and making a difference in people’s lives. Providing therapy lets me do both while also giving me a healthy amount of mental stimulation.

Will you give me a diagnosis?

There are pros and cons to receiving a diagnosis, and there’s no one-size-fits-all answer for everyone.

Sometimes, a formal diagnosis is required to use your out-of-network insurance benefits.

A diagnosis can be useful to communicate to other professionals, such as a primary care provider or other specialist, as it can open doors for additional support or treatment.

If you have been previously diagnosed with a mental health disorder by another professional, it is helpful for me to know more about that. I may ask you if you would be willing to sign a release of information authorizing me to gain access to previous records. Knowing your history is important so I can better understand you and offer you the best treatment.

For many, though, a diagnosis may not be necessary, and I do not have to assess and assign one.

We can work together and determine if a diagnosis is needed or beneficial for you.

What is your educational background?

I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in clinical psychology.

Do you prescribe medications?

No.

Are you licensed?
Yes, I have been licensed for over ten years.
Do you take notes?
Yes, I write my notes on an electronic notepad that converts my writing into text. All of my documents and devices are HIPAA-compliant and password-protected with a two-step security process.
