We all have issues…
And many of them center on our sex lives and relationships.
Maybe you know what’s at the heart of your challenges but don’t know how to move forward.
Perhaps you’re exploring your sexuality and identity, seeking to discover who you are and where you belong.
If you’re having difficulty in these areas, you’re probably also struggling with anxiety and depression.
Whether you’re 16 or into your 80s, I’m here for you!
I’m here to help.
I’ll empathize with you.
I’ll offer you feedback.
I’ll give you tools to improve your life.
We’ll challenge negative thought patterns.
And we’ll do it all in an open, warm, supportive environment.
Therapy is about YOUR needs and goals.
What we do in therapy is customized to YOU. We’ll use techniques and interventions that get to the heart of your struggles and help you move forward toward the life you want.
During the process, I want to hear from you. I’m very open to and appreciative of your feedback. If what we’re doing isn’t helping, I want to know so we can pivot and steer the work in a way that’s more beneficial to you.
You might want short-term therapy to focus intently on a particular goal, or you might want to work on various objectives over the long term.
You might want homework to keep you focused between sessions, or you might prefer that our work take place primarily in session.
I’m game for whatever helps you get the most out of therapy!
About Me
How I got into therapy…
After taking multiple psychology courses in high school and shadowing a psychologist, I knew that I wanted a career in the mental health field.
I realized early on that being a therapist would allow me to help others while feeling challenged mentally. My desire was strong and fueled me through undergraduate and graduate school.
The profession comes naturally to me, as I enjoy empathizing with and listening to others. My clients have given me positive feedback about my ability to relate to them, offer support, give feedback, listen to their stories, and ask helpful questions.
Some of my professional background…
I received my education in clinical psychology from Marywood University (Scranton, Pennsylvania), and I’ve done extensive training in several evidence-based therapeutic approaches and protocols.
My areas of interest are sex therapy, the integration of mind and body, mood disorders, adoption, LQBTQI+ issues, and relationships.
I combine and pull from various modalities, particularly Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, body-centered approaches, Solution-Focused Therapy, and positive psychology. I choose approaches and modalities based on what makes sense for you, your learning style, and how you like to work.
When I am not working…
I grew up in Upstate New York but have lived in Austin, Texas, for the last ten years.
I enjoy running, rock climbing, ice climbing, mountain biking, cooking, crafting, reading, and writing.
I travel to Colorado frequently to run and go on mountain excursions!
